A Magical St. Patrick’s Day Sleepover: Fun Ideas for a Festive Family Night

(Everything linked in photos at the end of the post)

There’s something extra special about celebrating holidays with family, and this year, we took St. Patrick’s Day to the next level with a festive, fun-filled sleepover with the cousins! From themed tents to creative crafts, snacks, and a cozy movie night, this was a celebration full of laughter, color, and a little bit of Irish magic.

St. Patrick’s Day Tent Setup

To make the night extra special, each cousin had their own St. Patrick’s Day-themed tent. We decorated with:

• Green blankets

• Rainbow pillows with a special cookie on it

• Twinkle lights for a cozy glow

• Paint your own signs for the bed to make each tent feel like their own little retreat

The kids loved having their own festive space to snuggle up in for the night!

Festive Crafts & Activities

No holiday is complete without some hands-on fun! We set up a craft station where the kids got creative with:

• Green Jewelry Making – Using beads in different shades of green, gold, and white, they made necklaces, bracelets, and earrings to wear for the celebration.

• Painting Four-Leaf Clovers & Pots of Gold – Each child painted their own lucky clover and or pot of gold, adding glitter and stickers to make their artwork shine!

• Green & Gold Nail Painting – The girls had a blast painting their nails in sparkly green and gold polish to match the theme.

Lucky Snacks & Treats

We kept the snack table stocked with St. Patrick’s Day treats that were both fun and delicious:

• Specialty cookies and cupcakes

• Leprechaun Popcorn (popcorn with lucky charm marshmallows)

• Golden coins (golden Oreos sprayed with edible gold spray and edible paint) and shamrock milk (milk dyed green)

• Rainbow Rice Krispie treats

A Cozy Movie Night

To wind down after all the excitement, we set up a projector and screen and everyone snuggled up with blankets in their tents and watched a movie. While all the kids agreed to Moana 2 some great St. Patrick’s Day-friendly choices include:

• Darby O’Gill and the Little People (a classic!)

• The Luck of the Irish (a fun Disney favorite)

• Leap! (not Irish, but a great family-friendly movie about chasing dreams!)

A Night to Remember

This St. Patrick’s Day sleepover was a huge hit, filled with laughter, creativity, and sweet family memories. The kids woke up the next morning still talking about their tents and crafts, already asking for an Easter themed sleepover!
